For new container plants, simply mix 2 tablespoons of hydrangeas fertilizer per gallon of soil, fill the container, and plant at the right height. Water thoroughly and follow the established feeding schedule after three to four weeks. For new in-ground plantings, combine 2 parts FoxFarm soil conditioner with 1 part native soil, adding ½ cup of this juniper fertilizer per 5 gallons of the mixture. Once planted, sprinkle an additional ½ cup of this dogwood fertilizer around the base, gently incorporating it into the top inch of soil. For established plants, top-dress monthly based on height—1 cup for plants 1-2 ft, 1½ cups for 2-3 ft, 2 cups for 3-5 ft, and 3 cups for 5 ft and above.
