S.A.B.E.R. Frost is a semi-permanent coating developed to minimize or prevent oil absorption in reactive bowling balls. It has the ability to significantly change the ball’s reaction, even mimicking the performance of urethane. Depending on lane conditions, the effect can last between 6 to 9 games and can be completely removed with S.A.B.E.R. Sanding Pads. This liquid product is simple to apply and forms a strong polymer layer on the ball's surface. S.A.B.E.R. Frost incorporates a blend of advanced technologies that create a durable, pore-penetrating coating on the bowling ball with four main benefits: Makes the ball oleophobic (resistant to oil). Slows down or prevents oil absorption in all reactive bowling balls. Provides excellent resistance to dirt and scuff marks. Gives the ball a slick feel, necessitating the use of both hands to pick it up. Performance of S.A.B.E.R. Frost: When applied to any bowling ball coverstock, S.A.B.E.R. Frost increases skid through the front and middle sections of the lane while significantly reducing backend performance. For optimal results, it’s recommended to sand the ball first using S.A.B.E.R. Sanding Pads, such as 800 grit, before applying S.A.B.E.R. Frost. A higher surface grit can make a reactive bowling ball travel in a straighter line. Depending on the type of ball and how it’s thrown, you might see a reduction of about 5-10 boards in hook potential.
