- The Allihn condenser also known as a “bulb condenser”, is designed with an inner tube consisting of a series of bulbs which increase the surface area available for vapor condensation surrounded by an outer jacket tube, the cool water flows through the outer jacket to condensate the vapor in the inner tube.Additionally, the Allihn condenser has a wider bore at the bottom and the condensed liquid can run down along the sides avoiding blocking the upward vapor.
