Product Description
Each sculpture is artfully hand-carved from a single piece of Kisii soapstone, found only in the hills of southwestern Kenya. Mining the soapstone from surface hills is a labor-intensive process, using little to no machinery. Laborers works with shovels, picks, axes and machetes to carve out large soapstone chucks, which are then carved into beautiful art. After carving, each piece goes through multiple processes of hand-waxing to give them a satiny feel. Artisans then use colorful paint to create eye-catching colors and traditional designs on each piece.

- Carved from soapstone in Western Kenya, this pack of five Sitting Cats are colorful and whimsical to brighten up the smallest spaces.
- Each one measures approximately 2-inches tall. Because these are hand-carved, exact sizes will vary slightly.
- Handpainted. Colors will vary based on availability, but five unique colors will be provided for each set. Photos represent a variety of colors that may be included.
- Enough to keep one (or two!) for yourself, and share some to spread a little happiness to others.
