- It is a float switch that is used to detect the level of water in the machine's reservoir. The float switch is mounted on the side of the reservoir and consists of a plastic boot with a metal float inside. The float moves up and down with the water level, activating or deactivating the switch as needed. When the water level drops below a certain point, the switch will activate and signal for more water to be added to the reservoir.
