- This is the STEELDIVE SD1970, a homage to the legendary 6105-8110. The one that started it all!
- The 6105-8110 is the robust everyman watch with it's reputation for value upon which the Japanese giant built its name. Produced from 1968 to 1977, the 6105 is considered the most iconic vintage dive watch by many horologists of today- you can still see the influence in modern watches today with the 4 o'clock crown and cushion-shaped case.
- In 1979 the film 'Apocalypse Now' was released, the character Captain Willard (Martin Sheen) famously wears a 6105-8110 throughout the film. This combination of history and film nostalgia is one of the main reasons the 6105 has become so popular.
