Product Description

Our product is from Yame City, Fukuoka Prefecture, located in the south of Japan, Kyushu region, which is famous among tea lovers as a production area for high-quality Japanese tea leaves with a history of 600 years since 1423. Our green tea and matcha are "100% Yame green tea and matcha from Yame farmers" carefully produced, harvested, and processed by long-established tea farmers in Yame, Fukuoka Prefecture. It is natural green tea and matcha with no additives. [Sencha] Sencha is the most common type of Japanese green tea and is made from steamed tea leaves. It has a grassy, vegetal flavor and is often served as an everyday tea. [Gyokuro] Gyokuro is a high-quality Japanese green tea. The shading process gives the tea leaves a milder, sweeter flavor. The sweetness and umami unique to gyokuro are derived from "theanine", which is said to be a relaxing ingredient. Theanine is a special amino acid contained only in tea and some plants, especially in gyokuro tea leaves. Yame Gyokuro is the no.1 quality in Japan. [Matcha] Matcha is a finely ground powder of green tea. It has a rich, creamy flavor. Not only is matcha delicious, but it is also known for its ability to provide all the nutritional benefits of green tea since the entire leaf is consumed. [Shiraore] Shiraore is a Japanese green tea made from the stems, stalks, and twigs of the tea plant that are collected during the production process of other green teas such as Sencha and Gyokuro. [Kabusecha] Kabusecha is a type of Japanese green tea that is grown under a shade for a period of about one to two weeks before harvesting. The shading process causes the tea leaves to produce more chlorophyll, resulting in a deeper green color and a sweeter, milder flavor compared to regular sencha. [Fukamushicha] "Deep steamed tea," also known as "fukamushi-cha," is a type of green tea that is steamed longer than regular sencha, making the tea leaves softer and increasing healthy components such as vitamins and catechins.

Product Information

  • ✅ [Yamecha / Yame tea] Yame Tea is a brand of tea produced in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is a rare and highly esteemed brand, accounting for only about 3% of the total Japanese tea production.
  • ✅ Yame-cha is a high-quality tea with characteristic sweetness and umami. The water temperature should be below 60°C and wait slowly. Depending on the tea leaves, wait for about 1.5 to 2 minutes.
  • ✅ In addition to the commonly drunk sencha and shiraore, Yame-cha also has kabuse-cha and fukamushi-cha. Furthermore, the famous high-quality tea leaf gyokuro is a representative green tea of Yame-cha, characterized by its lack of astringency.
  • ✅ The higher the quality of the tea leaves, the more you wait at a low temperature. In the case of gyokuro or traditional hon-gyokuro, pour lukewarm water at about 40°C over plenty of tea leaves and wait for about 2 minutes until the sweetness and umami come out.
  • ✅ The difference in the price of Yame-cha tea leaves is that the higher the price, the earlier in the year the tea leaves are picked, and the stronger the sweetness. The cheaper the price, the later in the year the tea leaves are picked, so the bitterness increases.
  • ✅ When you want to enjoy green tea with your meal, the more greasy the meal, the more people prefer green tea with astringency brewed at a high temperature. Depending on what you eat with your tea, you can adjust the taste with temperature and enjoy the real pleasure of green tea.
  • ✅ The quality of Yame-cha tea leaves can be judged by the color and shape of the leaves. The darker green and slender the tea leaves, the higher the quality and the more luxurious the tea leaves. The later in the year the tea leaves are picked, the more yellowish they become.
  • ✅ Yame-cha is a rare tea leaf with only 3% production nationwide. 100% Yame-cha leaves are very rare, and even if they are labeled as Yame-cha, many of them are mixed with tea leaves from other prefectures. Among them, our Yame-cha is 100% pure Yame-cha leaves without any mixture.
  • ✅ Hoshino-cha is a tea produced in ‘Hoshino Village’ in the Yamate area of Yame-cha. Hoshino Village is a famous area for gyokuro, and the tea leaves produced in this village are of high quality and luxury.
  • ✅ Our matcha and green tea are additive-free, fragrance-free, and preservative-free, and are 100% cultivated and harvested in the famous green tea producing region of Yame. ‘Yamecha’ is a green tea characterized by its sweetness and umami. Matcha made from high-quality Yamecha has little bitterness and can be enjoyed by dissolving it in hot water or water without adding sugar.
