- The full-frame 24.5MP FX-Format BSI CMOS sensor, combined with the EXPEED 6 processor, is designed for versatility, offering high resolution, rapid readout speeds, and notable low-light performance. Thanks to its back-illuminated design, images are particularly clear with reduced noise, supporting an ISO range of 100-51200, expandable to 50-204800. It allows a 7 fps continuous shooting rate through the optical viewfinder and up to 12 fps in Silent Live View mode for raw or JPEG images.
- The Multi-CAM 3500 II AF sensor, used with the optical viewfinder, employs 51 phase-detection points for swift, precise focus. It functions even in low light (-3 EV) and includes 15 cross-type points for better accuracy. For telephoto lenses and teleconverters, 11 focus points work down to f/8 aperture. 3D Tracking, part of the Scene Recognition System, maintains focus on moving subjects, enhancing accuracy during high-speed continuous shooting.
