- The a7 II boasts a redesigned body housing a full-frame 24.3MP Exmor CMOS sensor, offering wide dynamic range, low noise, and rich gradations. The sensor supports an ISO range of 100-51,200, expandable to ISO 50. When used with the BIONZ X processor, the camera supports high-speed shooting up to 5 fps and Full HD video recording at 60p.
- The a7 II allows Full HD 1920 x 1080 video shooting at 60p, 30p, and 24p frame rates using the high-bit-rate 50 Mbps XAVC S format for superior image quality with less noise and artifacts, without needing much storage. It uses linear PCM sound for high-quality audio. The camera records video with a 4:2:0 sampling at 8-bit internally but also provides clean HDMI output for external recording, enabling capture of uncompressed 4:2:2 video in an easy-to-edit format.
