Up-Cut or Down-Cut?
Up-Cut bits pull the chips toward the router, cleaning out the cut area quickly. They're generally the preferred approach, unless you're working with a type of plywood that tends to chip with an Up-Cut. Down-Cut bits slice downward into the material, eliminating tear-out.
For mortise and tenon work, particularly through-mortise joints, long cut length is essential. We offer our solid carbide spiral bits in a variety of cut lengths to match your projects. These bits are held to very strict tolerance for dimensional accuracy;in other words they're perfect for CNC machines and horizontal routers like the Multi-Router and PantoRouter.
