- Grinds very well with salt than other hard spices. Non-corrosive ceramic grinding mechanism won’t absorb flavors or odours. Thus, the seasoning won’t be tainted by the grinder. Grinding salt is a slightly different situation than pepper, as salt is not as compatible with metal. If you are planning to grind salt, a ceramic mechanism is likely to work out better than metal will.
