Product Information
- Award-winning Ernest Markham Clematis cultivar features large, open, magenta-pink flowers and is easy to care for and fast growing.
- Train it to climb or leave unsupported to ramble through medium to tall shrubs. Deer and rabbit resistant, it creates an excellent vertical effect in smaller spaces and containers.
- 'Ernest Markham' is a deciduous climbing plant that produces stunning single flowers up to 15cm in width. The flowers have six rich, velvety crimson-red overlapping sepals and buff stamens and bloom in early to late summer or early autumn.
- This Clematis prefers well-drained, lightly alkaline soil with roots sheltered and top growth in the sun, and should be watered deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish the root system.
- Fertilize regularly starting in spring, and prune in late winter or early spring using Type 2/Group B pruning to promote repeat bloom and new growth.
