Product Information
- DETAILS: Made from high-quality glazed ceramic, the Sutton 15 Self-Watering Planter has a bulbous shape created that pairs well with trailing and cascading plants, as well as succulents. The foot of the planter hides a patented sub-irrigation system that allows plants to drink from the roots (as they do in nature) and prevents over-watering. The planter includes an insert tray and stones which provides aeration for the roots. Each Planter includes aeration stones and a sub-irrigation insert.
- DIMENSIONS: Inside diameter 5". Outside diameter 6" x 4.75" tall. The perfect plant pot for 4" growers pot.
- SET UP: Place the Sub-Irrigation Insert into the planter, fill the pot with the Aeration Stones, and pot your plant. Give the plant a heavy watering when first planted, until water runs freely out of the bottom of the Sub-Irrigation Insert. Then, you'll want to top-water for 4 weeks. After, water only by filling the reservoir, allowing the plant to drink from below. Make sure that you give your plant a "dry-out" period between refilling the reservoir, usually 2-5 days depending on the plant.
- BENEFITS: Imagine if every time you got thirsty, you had to wait two days and then be forced to chug a gallon of water. Sounds stressful, right? By watering from the bottom, instead of the top, the plants roots are able to grow into the water reservoir and they're able to administer their own moisture, at their own pace. These planters have the added benefit of being able to see the plant's roots directly, so you can troubleshoot your plant's health without needing to un-plant it.
