Soundsulate Mass Loaded Vinyl is a flexible sound barrier that offers exceptional sound noise reduction by blocking the passage of sound waves and reducing the transmission of airborne noise. MLV is typically attached to joists or studs, followed by covering seams and joints with acoustic caulking or barrier tape. It can also be used to wrap plastic plumbing pipes, steel columns, metal ducts and just about anything else to minimize noise transmission. MLV is perfect to block out everyday noises, from traffic, trains, neighbors, work spaces, condos, loud television’s, music and much more. It is the cost-effective solution to a wide variety of sound issues. As a DIY soundproofing material, MLV is one of the best soundproofing options available today.
