This spectacular tropical shrub bears slightly arching branches that produce violet-blue to pale blue flowers resembling butterflies. The Butterfly Bush blooms from summer to fall. This plant attracts hummingbirds and, of course, butterflies!
Proper Care:
The Butterfly Bush will do best with full sun or partial shade. For watering, water slowly and make sure it goes deep (especially during dry periods) so the water reaches the root zone. It is important that the soil has good drainage as this can lead to root rot. This is possibly happening if the leaves are yellowing or you see twig/stem dieback.
