- In the year 2020, all branches of the military approved the use of 3 Color OCP for USAF Name Tapes, Branch Tapes and Rank. This version is easier to read while not compromising the overall function of the camouflage pattern or uniform. Significant feedback indicated that the previous 7 color OCP name tapes and rank were hard to read, leading to this change. At this time, both versions are still allowed for the uniform.
