The district office is in Hoodsport by beautiful Hood Canal, with the Olympic Mountains to the west and Puget Sound to the east. Rain forest and drier east-side ecosystems are managed within the 225,000 acres of the district, along with 3 wildernesses, 9 campgrounds, 110 miles of trails, 2 rental cabins, and many backcountry and roaded recreation areas.
