Do NOT install a diode.
How to assemble the power adapter:
1. Loose the screws on the back of the Ring doorbell
2. Link the 2 wire tips of the adapter to the two terminals on the back of the doorbell (No need to identify the positive and negative poles, no need the resistor.)
3. Connect the adapter to the 120 V AC power, the rim of the button will flash white light.
4. Open the APP, and then go into the Device Health, if the Power voltage shows very good, it means that it starts to work.
