- PINEAPPLE GUAVA - a flowering plant species in the family of myrtle. Widely cultivated as a garden plant and fruiting tree. Commonly known as feijoa, pineapple guava and guavasteen, but this is an evergreen type of shrub and not a guava. The fruit of this tree matures in autumn season with a sweet and aromatic flavour that tastes like pineapple, apple and mint.
- GROWING PINEAPPLE GUAVA - This plant prefers growing in the areas which has warm-temperate but requires at least 50 hrs of winter chilling to be able to bear fruit. It is also winter tolerant, if your tree or vine is young you will notice a slow growth and development in its first or second year. Sensitive with to high wind. Tolerant with partial shade and regular watering will be needed when the frit season comes along.
- TAKING CARE OF PINEAPPLE GUAVA - Pineapple Guava is an easy growing plant and easy to care. When your tree or vine is mature enough, it can grow by its own and can tolerate droughness. Pests are not that visible to this plant unlike other, so you won't be hassle in spraying insectiside with this.
- PRUNING PINEAPPLE GUAVA TREE - You can maintain and shape your tree by what size our shape you frefer, you can do the pruning in late winter but it can be trimmed anytime. If your pineapple guava tree is left unprunned it can grown until 15 to 20 feet. But with right pruning you can keep it and maintain it as low as 3 or 4 feet. If your Pineapple Guava is a vining type, simply train it to climb as it grows.
