- HIGH ALTITUDE NATURALS TM Black Currant Seed Oil is cold-pressed from the seed of the plant Ribes Nigrum without any chemical solvents. It is known to be rich in the Omega 6 essential fatty acid GLA (gamma-linolenic acid C18:3n-6) and is also a good source of ALA (α-linolenic acid C18:3n-3), an Omega 3 essential fatty acid. The GLA content in Black Currant Oil is up to 20%.
- After our Black Currant Oil is refined, the result is a clear honey colored oil with a bland odor and taste. Black currant Seed Oil is rich in gamma-linolenic acid, an important ingredient for maintaining the elasticity of the skin. Some individuals are not able to convert linoleic acid into necessary gamma-linolenic acid. Gamma-linolenic acid is not common to many oils. Black currant Seed Oil contains up to 20% GLA.
- GLA. Black Currant Seed Oil can be an effective addition to formulations for dry, devitalized, damaged and aging skin. It is also excellent in products for sensitive skin, eczema or psoriasis. Blackcurrant Seed Oil is also reported to act as an anti-inflammatory and may be an effective addition to formulations intended to ease muscular and joint aches and pains. Blackcurrant Seed Oil can be used in any proportion within skin care, hair care, baby care and sun care products.
