Asclepias tuberosa Orange Butterfly Weed is a U.S. native butterfly weed perennial plant. It's orange flowers during summer into late fall attract butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Great plant for beginning a butterfly garden. In mid to late summer, clip off the spent blooms to encourage reblooming into early fall. Asclepias tuberosa Orange Butterfly Weed grows in zones 3 to 9. Does best in full sun to only light shade. Adaptable to soil types from dry to slightly moist. Matures in the 18 to 30 inch height range with a spread of 12 to 24 inches. This native milkweed produces thick topped orange cluster flowers. Seed pods are often used in flower arrangements. Plants are grown in pint and 3.5 inch pots and ship in size currently available.
