This means that the product is 'freshest' through Jan 31st of 2017. THE PRODUCT DOES NOT EXPIRE. The Fresh Mint flavor has been approved for a 3 year "best by" date, but it hadn't been around long enough to complete the 3 year stability testing when we did our last packaging run. It is safe and edible but a little bit softer than when it was brand new.
