Jiffy Seed Starting Mix 16 Quart. Ideal for starting plants especially when handled in trays. Jiffy grow seed starter mix. Ingredients: Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss and Wood Pulp. This specially formulated seed starting soil was designed to replicate greenhouse conditions at your home. This mix is enhanced with peat moss, vermiculite, and lime and it will result in the excellent germination of your seeds. Use this mix with Jiffy Peat Pots, Jiffy Peat Strips and/or within any of your gardening containers. Peat Moss can hold up to 2x its weight in water, provides aeration for plant roots and helps retain the nutrients that your plants need. Vermiculite prevents soil compaction, retains moisture and improves aeration. Vermiculite can soak up to 3-4X its volume in water! Lime is necessary because it helps promote a healthy pH balance for your soil and for your seed.
