- Polypropylene ribbon is an extruded plastic material, not a woven polyester fabric. Its texture is different than that of woven fabric. This ribbon has a stiff characteristic to help it hold shapes. Because it resists moisture, it will not droop or sag when wet and thus holds up outdoors in inclement weather. When tails or ends are slit or shredded, they can be curled up nicely with a credit card or scissor blade to add a cheerful curly appearance.
