Dropshipping is a fulfillment method in which the seller does not keep stock of the products they are selling. Rather, when the seller makes a sale, the seller purchases the item from their supplier and ships it directly to the consumer. In this way, the seller never actually handles the product. The main difference between dropshipping and standard retail is that dropshipping businesses never own any inventory, instead opting to purchase the needed inventory when a customer makes a purchase. Shopify is one popular service commonly used by dropshipping merchants. It enables the user to very easily create an online eCommerce store and fulfill orders in a unified, streamlined fashion.
