European Article Number (EAN) is one of the many unique product identifiers that exist. Product codes are used by online sellers to identify exact product models and to simplify warehousing and shipping. They are organization systems that every major retailer in the world uses. Amazon requires all listed items to have a UPC, EAN, or ASIN code, and typically barcodes found on retail packaging will contain at least one of these. While all codes are valid, EAN is the standard barcode for European countries, while UPC is mostly used in North America. ASIN is Amazon’s own unique system. You might also see an ISBN for books. Sellers need to understand how these codes work and know how to find a product’s identifier. Algopix can help you convert ASIN to UPC, ASIN to EAN, EAN to UPCs, and more, saving you from manually converting them.
