Whether you’re a large business, or just an individual selling on Amazon, you will have to pay Amazon fees. While no one likes to pay fees, Amazon’s fees are reasonable. As a seller, you must keep them in mind when deciding on your prices and overall business model.

Amazon offers two types of seller accounts: Individual and Professional. Individual sellers pay a $0.99 fee for each item sold, while Professional accounts pay a monthly $39.99 in addition to a few variable referral fees.

Plus, if you choose to sell via fulfilled by Amazon (FBA), you will have to pay those fees as well. Amazon also charges FBA sellers with long-term storage fees for any products that do not sell within 181 to 365 days. Any products flagged for long-term storage between 181 to 365 days are subject to a $3.45 per cubic foot charge, while the charge is $6.90 per cubic foot for products held for longer than 365 days.

Extra costs are a simple reality for all online sellers, but keeping track of them doesn’t have to be a hassle. A product research tool like Algopix is great at helping you determine the different Amazon fees, shipping totals, and other useful information.
