Niche items are a great starting point for new or growing eCommerce sellers since seller competition is usually low in these categories. On the other hand, there’s very little sales information out there sellers can utilize in their market research. There are a few things you can do to help you determine if a product is worthwhile when it comes to eBay product research.
- Look at the top sellers: Are these sellers established? If they aren’t, can you outcompete them? See what they are selling within a niche and check how often they are receiving feedback.
- Check their feedback: Do they have solid reputations? If they don’t, can you provide a better quality of service?
- Look at their prices: Can you offer better prices? If so, can you sustain those lower prices?
- Scan their listings: Do they look legitimate? If not, can you create better listings?
