Sellers are always trying to find new products to sell on Amazon. The Amazon Best Seller Rating (BSR) is one way many sellers scout for products. Finding the best selling products for each category is easy. When you navigate to a particular product category, Amazon will automatically display the top selling products. You can also look at individual items to see where they rank in their categories.
In the example below, you can see that the product in question is ranked #7 in “Tools & Home Improvement” and #1 for the subcategory “Power Drill Parts & Accessories.”
As a seller, you need to know what people want to buy. While there are plenty of articles online listing the best selling categories, the information they offer is typically outdated. After all, trends change and what’s popular today may be out of touch tomorrow. Amazon’s website has the answers you need, but identifying them takes some effort.
To do the market research accurately and in real time, consider an online product research tool like Algopix, which, among other things, shows you the current BSR on Amazon, along with the average monthly sales on Amazon, eBay, and Walmart, and determines which items are most likely to rank well in the A9 search engine.
It is best to look for products that are currently not best sellers but have the market and profit potential to become so.
