There are 3 steps to closing your Amazon seller account: 1. From the Seller Central page, go to ‘account. 2. Downgrade your account level to ‘individual.’ 3. Contact support at the bottom of the page and ask to close your account. CAUTION: this cannot be reversed – once you downgrade to ‘individual,’ you cannot become a seller again…unless you start over with a brand-new account. So, you need to be pretty sure you want to cancel! In any event, should you want to close your account, it will not take effect until 90 days after your last sale, to ensure the claim period goes through smoothly.
Before you close your account, you need to make sure that:
- Any orders are, or have been, fulfilled.
- Wait until there is a zero balance in your account.
- Complete all transactions and resolve any issues you may have had with customers, including returns or refunds.
- Re-confirm your valid bank account to receive your final payment.
