- PREP WORK IS IMPORTANT: Correct prep work can make the coating last up to 3-7 year.If possible,after washing the car totally, using a cutting compound to remove paint defects (scratches, swirls, oxidation etc).Then we use a polishing compound to remove any finer scratches and swirls.Finally we use IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) to remove any waxes, greases, oils to make sure the ceramic coatings can properly bond to the surface.
