Product Description
What is a transfer case motor?
A transfer case is a part of the drivetrain of four-wheel-drive, all-wheel-drive, and other multiple powered axle vehicles. The transfer case transfers power from the transmission to the front and rear axles by means of drive shafts.
What are the symptoms of a bad transfer case motor?
Noted below are a few of the common side effects of a damaged transfer case output shaft seal that should be replaced.
1. Difficulty shifting gears.
2. Grinding noises coming from underneath the vehicle.
3. Vehicle jumps in and out of four-wheel drive.
What does the transfer case encoder motor do?
Transfer Case Encoder Motor. The encoder motor is an electric motor which is used to shift the transfer case from high to low range. Also included in the encoder motor assembly is a position sensor which sends the actual position of the transfer case shift shaft to the transfer case control module.
Replacement Part Number: 19125571, 600910, 600-910, 88962314, 19125640, 5170543AA.

Product Information
- The 4WD transfer case attaches to your truck's transmission and allows you to easily change between rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, 4x4. The transfer case consists of a series of gears and chains and when switched over allows power to be transferred to the front wheels and rear wheels at the same time. In order for the transfer case to switch into four-wheel drive, 4x4 mode a gear must be turned inside the transfer case.
- The 4WD Transfer Case Shift Encoder motor is the part that turns the gear inside the transfer case, allowing your vehicle to be switched into 4x4 mode. The Shift Encoder Motor is located on the outside of the transfer case and is secured to the transfer case with 3 bolts. If your truck will not switch into 4x4 mode a faulty Shift Encoder motor may be the cause.
