- Many models compatible with 2198597 are equipped with W10757851 ice maker control boards which monitor the ice level and can shut off the ice maker if faulty. For a complete repair, you may need to replace the ice maker as well as the control board, sold separately. You will need to remove the bottom mounting bracket from your old ice maker and attach it to the new one.
- It is important to disconnect your appliance from the power and water supply before servicing. If your new ice maker is not making ice the freezer temperature may be too high, your water filter may be clogged, your thermostat may be defective, or you may have inadequate water pressure.
