Now Supporting the Amazon Australia Marketplace
With Amazon’s entry in the end of 2017, the Australian eCommerce marketing is growing quickly. According to country manager of Amazon Australia, Rocco Braeuniger, the Amazon Australia marketplace (Amazon.com.au) already contains over 80 million products.
The Australia Post’s 3rd annual eCommerce industry report, Inside Australian Online Shopping 2018, states that Australians spent $21.3 billion buying goods online in 2017, an increase of 18.7% over the previous year, and, perhaps more importantly, “online spending growth outstripped traditional retail by 16.2 percentage points.”
Other important trends that can be gleaned from this report include:
- Purchases from mobile devices grew 58% in 2017, a six percentage point increase from the previous year while transactions from desktops and laptops fell 11%.
- Purchases from eCommerce platforms, like eBay and Amazon, grew 74.8% year-over-year.
- The top three products bought by online spend were: consumer electronics, clothing and books.
With the Australia Post predicting that 1 in 10 items will be bought online by 2020, now is a great time to get into the Australian eCommerce market. Algopix is glad to support you with product research data for both Amazon’s and eBay’s AU marketplaces.

Do Your Bulk Analysis Direct from Excel Files
With Algopix, we let you do your product analysis one at a time or use our bulk analysis feature to save time by analyzing up to 200 products at once.
